Tree Removal in Mississauga
Tree removal across Port Credit, Lorne Park, Streetsville, Erin Mills, Clarkson, Cooksville and all of Mississauga | Licensed & ISA Certified | Free Estimates | (437) 367-8733
Tree removal in Mississauga is not a one-size-fits-all job. Some properties give us plenty of room to work. Others are tight a fence on one side, a neighbour's garage on the other, and a power line running through the canopy. We handle both. The approach changes, the crew size changes, the equipment changes. But the end result is the same: the tree comes down safely, your property stays intact, and everything gets cleaned up.
Our team has done tree removals across all of Mississauga Port Credit, Lorne Park, Streetsville, Erin Mills, Clarkson, Cooksville, Meadowvale, Malton and everywhere in between. We know what these properties look like. We know where the utility lines run. We know when a job needs climbing and rigging and when it can be straight felled. We come out, look at the job, and give you a firm price before anything starts.
What Makes Tree Removal in Mississauga Different
Mississauga is a mature city. Most of the residential neighbourhoods were built out in the 1960s through the 1980s, which means the trees planted then are now 40 to 60 years old. Silver maples, Norway maples, white ash, blue spruce these trees are large now. A silver maple planted in 1975 in a Port Credit backyard can easily be 60 feet tall and 30 inches in diameter today.
That size creates real challenges. The tree is often close to the house, over the garage, beside the fence, or in a tight side yard with barely enough room to swing a chainsaw. Straight felling dropping the tree in one piece is rarely an option in these situations. What it requires is sectional removal: going up into the tree, cutting it apart from the top down, and lowering each piece to the ground in a controlled way using ropes and rigging gear.
That is the work we do every day in Mississauga. If your tree is in a tight spot, send us a photo and we can usually tell you right away what the job involves and what it will cost.
Tree Removal Permits in Mississauga
Mississauga requires a permit to remove most trees on private property. The City updated its Private Tree Protection By-law in April 2022 and the rules are specific. Getting it wrong can mean a stop-work order or a fine.
Permit required for any tree 15cm (roughly 6 inches) in diameter or larger on private property. This includes dead trees.
Base permit fee: $399.77 including HST for the first tree.
Each additional tree: $139.72 including HST per tree.
Dead trees: No fee, but an application is still required.
Replacement trees: One replacement tree required for every 15cm of trunk diameter removed. The City holds a security deposit for one year to confirm the replacement tree survives.
Trees under 15cm: No permit needed.

Our arborists know the application process well. If you need a permit before work can start, we walk you through what is required and handle the documentation. You do not need to figure it out on your own.
What Tree Removal Costs in Mississauga
Cost depends entirely on the job. A small ornamental tree removal on an open lot is completely different from taking down a 60-foot Norway maple in a tight Cooksville backyard. The things that drive price are size of the tree, how accessible the property is, whether rigging and climbing are required, how close the tree is to structures, and what you want done with the wood and debris afterward.
Most residential tree removals in Mississauga fall somewhere between $400 and $2,000. Very large trees or complex rigging jobs can go higher. We give free estimates, we show up when we say we will, and we give you a firm price before anything starts. No vague ranges. No surprise invoices.
What Happens After the Tree is Down
Once the tree is down, the wood gets cut and stacked for you if you want it, or we haul everything away. Brush goes through the chipper. The site gets raked and blown clean. We do not leave until the property looks the way it did when we arrived minus the tree.
The stump is a separate item. We can grind it out the same day or come back another time. If you are planning to replant, build a deck, or just want a flat lawn where the tree was, stump grinding is worth doing. We can quote it at the same time as the removal.
Frequently Asked Questions About Tree Removal in Mississauga
How long does tree removal take in Mississauga?
Most residential tree removals take between two and six hours depending on size and access. A straightforward removal on an open lot can be done in under two hours. A large tree in a tight backyard requiring full sectional removal and rigging is a full-day job. We will tell you upfront what to expect.
Can you remove a tree that is close to my house?
Yes. Working close to structures is something we do regularly in Mississauga. We use sectional removal and rigging to bring trees down in pieces with full directional control. The key is having the right crew and the right technique for the situation which is why we always come out and assess the job before quoting.
Do I need to be home during the tree removal?
You do not need to be home, but we recommend it for the initial walkthrough so we can confirm the scope together. If you cannot be there, a clear conversation beforehand about what you want done with the wood and debris is all we need.
Will you haul away all the wood and debris?
Yes. Full debris removal is included unless you specifically ask us to leave the wood. Brush goes through the chipper, logs get hauled, the site gets raked clean. If you want firewood cut and stacked, just let us know when you book.
Do you remove trees in all Mississauga neighbourhoods?
Yes all of Mississauga including Port Credit, Lorne Park, Streetsville, Meadowvale, Erin Mills, Clarkson, Cooksville, Malton, Richmond Hill, Burnhamthorpe and every neighbourhood in between. If you are in Mississauga, we cover you.
