Toronto Tree Services Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 1, 2026
Toronto Tree Services respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through TorontoTreeServices.ca, why we collect it, how it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
We aim to handle personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies.
1. Information We Collect
When you submit a tree-care or property-service request, we may collect the information you choose to provide, including:
- Your name
- Phone number
- Email address
- City or service area
- The type of service or property concern
- Project details you enter in the form
- Up to five optional photos you choose to upload
Please do not include sensitive personal information that is not needed to understand your request.
2. Why We Collect This Information
We use the information submitted through the website to:
- Review and process your request
- Connect the request with an appropriate local service professional where available
- Allow that professional to contact you about the project
- Respond to website or privacy questions
- Protect the website from spam, abuse, or security threats
- Maintain reasonable business and compliance records
We do not use information from a service request for unrelated purposes without consent or another lawful basis.
3. Optional Photo Uploads
Photos are optional. The request form accepts up to five JPG, PNG, or WebP images, with a maximum of 6 MB per image and 15 MB in total.
Accepted photos are temporarily processed by the website so they can be attached to the request notification. The theme is designed to remove those temporary server files after email handling and does not add them to the public WordPress Media Library. Copies may remain in the email systems that receive or forward the request as part of normal message handling and record retention.
4. Sharing Your Request
We may share the contact details, project information, and photos you submit with a local service professional so they can contact you about the request. Depending on the selected service and coverage area, that professional may provide tree care, landscaping, lawn care, cleanup, demolition, or another requested property service.
The professional who receives your request operates independently from Toronto Tree Services and handles their own assessment, estimate, scheduling, payment, service terms, and work directly with you.
We may also use service providers that support website hosting, email delivery, security, backups, or other technical operations. Those providers may process information only as needed to provide those services or as required by law.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to unrelated third parties for their own marketing.
5. Website Logs, Cookies, and Security Data
Our hosting, security, and website systems may automatically process basic technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, request timestamps, referring pages, and security events. Cookies may also be used where needed for website functionality, security, preferences, or analytics that are enabled on the site.
6. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including processing requests, maintaining appropriate business records, preventing abuse, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it where appropriate.
7. Safeguards
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No website, email system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so customers should avoid submitting information that is unnecessary for the request.
8. Access, Correction, and Withdrawal of Consent
You may ask about personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete information where applicable. You may also withdraw consent for future use or disclosure, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
To make a privacy request, contact us through the website Contact page and identify the message as a Privacy Request. We may need to verify your identity before responding to an access or deletion request.
9. External Websites
Our website may link to municipal, utility, government, or other third-party websites for information. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the website, forms, service providers, or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted on this page with its updated date.
11. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy or the handling of personal information can be sent through the website Contact page.
